My Day at Valencia Falls

Just when I thought that I had seen all the tiny multicab's and jeepney's in this country I found a new variety in the town of Valencia. It took me almost an hour to get there from my place and it rained until I arrived. Its a fairly small town and looks about the same as the rest of this island. We spent the day at some kind of resort that was probably very nice when it was built but appeared to have no one maintaining it. It was right on the ocean. Swimming pools and even a water fall for the kids to play in.

I was surprised at the amount of people there were considering the size of the town. I met an Australian who invited me there to enjoy the day with him and his family. He spent the entire day telling me about his marital problems and how he thinks his wife is cheating on him while he is away but has no evidence to prove such a thing. Being a foreigner I can understand his need to discuss such things with someone such as myself because we both speak the same language. Not being able to speak the language here and having reasons for such suspicion is probably not the best feeling to have. I listened to him for the whole day. Things didn't look good from my perspective but I told him I hoped things would get better. Him and his wife hardly communicated the whole time we were there. So it was a somewhat awkward day but my wife got to do some swimming and we ate their spaghetti. When it comes to Filipina's deceiving their loved ones I have learned a lot about this and plan to write more on this topic in the near future. Stay tuned..

  1. How very awkward for you. I guess some folks just need someone to listen, even when it's more than a little uncomfortable.
